Step 1: Your Appointment
From the moment you step into Northwest Dental, our friendly and professional staff will be there to greet you, assist with your check-in, inform your dental team of your arrival, and help with any insurance verification as needed. To streamline your visit, we recommend completing any new patient paperwork provided in your appointment confirmation email beforehand.
After you’ve completed the initial steps, one of our welcoming team members will escort you from the waiting area to a private treatment room. Here, our dental professionals will take the time to review your dental and medical history and discuss any oral health concerns or issues you might have. Our dental assistant will perform detailed X-ray imaging for a thorough understanding of your oral health. This allows us to meticulously examine the structure of your jaw, the positioning of your teeth, and the health of each tooth, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of your oral condition.
Step 2: Your Exam
At Northwest Dental, we prioritize your comfort and care above all else. As you relax in one of our modern treatment rooms, our team will meticulously review your dental and medical history, paying special attention to any concerns you may have. We take pride in adopting the latest dental technologies, including intraoral cameras that provide a detailed 3-D view of your teeth and jaw, enhancing our diagnostic capabilities.
Your comprehensive dental exam at Northwest Dental is a thorough process. It includes a detailed evaluation of your teeth, gums, and mouth and advanced X-ray imaging to assess your oral health. We further leverage artificial intelligence to refine our analysis of X-ray images, ensuring an exceptionally thorough examination of your dental health. After your examination, we take the time to sit down with you, discuss our findings in detail, and recommend any necessary treatments or procedures.
Step 3: Your Hygiene Visit
At Northwest Dental, your first appointment is centered around a thorough oral health evaluation. Our team will conduct an in-depth examination of your teeth, gums, and overall mouth health, forming a customized treatment plan that caters to your specific dental needs. Whether a cleaning is performed during this initial visit depends on the assessment of your oral health.
Our skilled dental hygienist will perform an oral cancer screening and evaluate the condition of your teeth and gums. Should a cleaning be necessary, our hygienist will proficiently use either traditional tools or advanced water-powered instruments to gently and effectively remove plaque and tartar build-up. You will also receive personalized guidance on how to maintain good oral hygiene and prevent gum disease. This comprehensive hygiene evaluation is designed to last approximately 45 minutes. Upon completing your visit, you’ll be provided with a toothbrush, dental floss, and toothpaste to encourage and support your daily dental care routine at home.
New Patient Forms
To prepare for your upcoming appointment, Northwest Dental of Corvallis provides our patient forms online. Completing forms before your visit will also help ensure timely check-in for your appointment. Yes! Northwest Dental of Corvallis accepts new patients and is often able to schedule appointments within a few weeks or even days. Your first visit will usually include an appointment with the doctor for a comprehensive exam and all necessary X-rays. During your new patient appointment, you can speak with our dentists about any specific trouble areas or concerns.
In the past, you may have been able to schedule your first appointment with a new dentist for just a dental cleaning. However, our dentists follow current standards in the dental field and all new patients receive a comprehensive oral examination and any necessary X-rays. This ensures that the dentist has a full and clear picture of your mouth and oral health before proceeding with care. If cleaning is the proper next course of treatment, appointments are often available on the same day.
In order to make payments convenient for our patients, we offer several options.
Our dental team will gladly help you with an estimate of benefits before your treatment and with filing your insurance claim. If we are out-of-network for your insurance, we will help guide you in filing a claim. Patients are responsible for the difference between the insurance benefit and the cost of the procedure. Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made.
